About us

f

Borovitza cow farm and dairy farm is located in the village of Borovitza, Belogradchik District, Vidin province. A brand-new farm was built on the site of a former cow farm under an EU rural development programme. Its construction began in 2016 and was completed in May 2019, when 101 specially selected Holstein cows were imported from the Czech Republic. Three years later, the number of animals we breed is nearly 200. Later on, we began to operate our dairy farm, where we produce our own products under the Borovitza brand. Over the time we expanded the range of our products by adding mozzarella, ayran (a traditional Bulgarian yoghurt drink), and white and yellow cheeses with different flavours to our traditional farm products such as yogurt, white cheese, yellow cheese and cottage cheese. We use only milk from our cows for the production of our dairy products. Our cows’ milk is full-fat and with very good indicators, which makes us feel confident and certain about the high quality of our products.

These impressive formations shaped by natural forces such as wind, erosion, and the elements of God for millions of years are the scenery where our daily work takes place. They are also our inspiration for the Borovitza cow farm and dairy farm, where every day we turn the milk of our cows into delicious yellow and white cheeses in line with the rhythms of the wild nature and its cycles.

Our mission

We believe that what we eat - what our children and our parents eat - is of crucial importance nowadays. It is truly important to develop a taste for real, pure, and natural food from an early age. That is why we produce our cheeses using the traditional technology and Bulgarian rennet and starter cultures. We observe the technological ripening times and do not add any powder milk, dyes or other substitutes. We are happy that even the youngest of our clients love the taste of our products.
